“The training is constantly exciting, and the instructors keep finding ways to ensure it’s interesting!”
I decided that I wanted to start practising martial arts; this is because I wanted to get in shape and learn some effective life skills. I started training Krav Maga because I knew I wanted to learn an effective self defence system that would be useful in the real world rather than a traditional style like Karate or Tae Kwon Do where the sole reason for training is to compete against other people.
I began training just before my 18th birthday which made one of the youngest in the group and I remember feeling anxious before my first session, yet when the session started I was welcomed nicely, and had one-on-one training to introduce me to Krav Maga. I was instantly impressed at the effectiveness and efficiency of Krav Maga and I knew had made the right choice.
The training is constantly exciting, and the instructors keep finding ways to ensure it’s interesting!
For the past 10 months I have stuck to 2 training sessions a week due to transport issues (no car/driving license!) but I hope to boost this up to at least three times a week because my goal is to progress steadily through the grades and see where the club takes me after that!
Krav Maga has significantly boosted my levels of confidence and fitness, and to anyone who is nervous/unsure about starting all I can say is that I thoroughly enjoy it, and there is nothing to be nervous about; so just do it!
Best of luck, hope to see you soon
